Laser Hair removal Growth Cycle
Laser Hair removal Growth Cycle
Laser hair removal growth cycle is the critical factor for permanent hair reduction.
There are 3 period in the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. Only
in the Anagen period, hair could be removed by diode laser machines. This cycle
is where the hair is visible on the surface of the skin. The laser will grab
ahold of the live hair and move through it into the hair follicle making it the
best time for successful laser hair removal. In the stage Catagen or
Telogen, laser hair removal treatment is not working well.
Anagen :
The
first stage of hair growth cycle is Anagen. In this stage hair is visible above
the skin and is still attached to the papilla. This hair growth Anagen phase is
ideal for laser hair removal because since it is still attached to the papilla
the laser can attack the papilla and prevent any new growth. Stage anagen usually
keeps around three weeks(Same situation in the face and body)
Catagen :
This
stage will last about 2 days, it is a short period. Catagen stage is not
exactly a good time for permanent hair removal because during this stage that
the hair begins to shed. You can still get the treatment as the follicle will
produce another hair. This shedding is not the same as after the treatment.
Telogen :
Telogen
is the last stage of hair growth. In this period, laser hair removal treatment
cannot be done. The hair is not growing and developing. In Telogen stage, the
hair is no longer attached to the papilla. This stage laser will not work because
there is little melanin and could not be absorbed.
Of
course we do not and can not make it very clearly which hair in which stage. So
that is why permanent laser hair removal often needs 4 to 6 times.
